Over the years, we have created many shopping cart websites. We've had our programmers create custom code and we have used open source code. Which one we use depends on the needs of the client.
The advantage of a custom shopping cart is that it is designed with special needs.
Whereas, open source shopping cart programs allow us to still create custom sites, but save the customer money by not re-creating the wheel. Most shopping carts on the Internet today are perfect for open-source. We can still create that custom look, but just take advantage of commonly used code.
St. John's Health Systems was referred to us by another customer in 2005. The first shopping cart was done in Zen Cart and has lasted 4 years. It was a complete success and allows the employees to buy discounted products online.
With that success, St. John's wanted to take this one step further and have the online system "do more". With that in mind, we have created a customized cart. This is a private site that is accessible only by the St. John's employees, so we cannot show you anything more than the screen shot above.

Magento Shopping Cart Development
Styles Boutique was referred to us by The Program Basketball (thank you, Thomas). Styles is a trendy boutique on E. Battlefield and needed a new site with an online shopping cart.
To meet her needs, we decided to use Magento. This shopping cart will give her the greatest flexibility.

RCS - Radio Communications Specialists came to us in 2003 to create their first website. It was a static site done in DreamWeaver. This year, we completely redid their site to add a shopping cart. We used OSCommerce.

Zen-Cart Shopping Cart Development
St. Johns Co-Worker Store - 
This is a private site for the employees of St. Johns Mercy Hospital. It was created with ZenCart and is a shopping cart. We added an extra database for them to offer more than just items to sell.
This site was done in 2005 and is currently be completely over-hauled. The new site will be in all custom code.
